Title: Cannabis Law Update 2021

CLE:  1.0 hour of non-ethics paralegal CLE credit through DAPA.

Bio: Richard Y. Cheng’s practice focuses corporate transactions, regulatory, compliance matters and administrative appeals strictly in the healthcare and cannabis industries. Richard represents a broad range of healthcare providers and private investors (e.g. physicians, nursing facilities, home health, hospice, MSOs, community hospitals, dental practices, behavioral health providers and other retail medicine businesses).

In addition to his traditional healthcare practice, Richard developed a cannabis regulatory and corporate practice starting in late 2013. As a leading cannabis attorney, Richard served as outside general counsel to the Texas Cannabis Industry Association, advised the National Hemp Association, co-authored a FDA primer in preparation for the 2019 FDA public hearing on CBD products and represents a broad base of cannabis related clients along the cannabis supply chain (e.g. seed developers, cultivators, processors, wholesalers, retailers, distribution centers, ancillary providers (e.g. testing labs, biomass brokerage firms, etc.) and physicians registered with state medical marijuana programs. Richard also teaches cannabis law as an adjunct faculty at the University of North Texas School of Law.
