Your Speaker.
Jeremy Rucker, Esq.
Jeremy Rucker leads businesses and organizations through the ever-evolving and complex landscape of data privacy, security, and incident response, both protecting them and their accumulated data in an effort to prevent operational interruptions and avoid costly liability related to cybersecurity incidents. His practice involves handling all aspects of privacy counseling/data strategy, incident response, regulatory investigations, and transactions with specifically significant industry experience in technology, consumer products, health care, education, hospitality, finance, and retail.

When cybersecurity incidents do inevitably occur, Jeremy brings his experience from managing hundreds of emergency responses from initial discovery to final regulatory resolution to help businesses and organizations with best practices and fulfillment of all legal requirements related to notification and regulatory investigations.
As a part of a collaborative approach to legal services at Spencer Fane, Jeremy also serves as a key resource in transactional matters. This includes advising clients on best practices and risks associated with mergers and acquisitions; drafting and negotiating data privacy and security disclosures and data protection and sharing agreements; assessing potential cybersecurity gaps and recommending remediation actions; and assessing EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) data transfers.
